2020 MoA and AGM
2020 has proven challenging and also full of interesting opportunities so far! Rather than host the Meeting of Associations and AGM in Bergamo as scheduled, we are participating in an online conference with Knowlative and the AGM will be held online. For those who would like to join us for this year’s AGM, it will be held Monday, May 4 from 15:00-16:45 CET.

Reflections on the 2019 Conference in Moscow
The conference schedule was a balance of presenters from Russia and from the rest of the world with all presentations translated into both English and Russian. I particularly enjoyed the range of topics presented – over the three days, we learned abut primitive reflexes, balancing the quadriceps, movements for recovery, creative leadership, research, working with pregnancy, the 5 pillars, Astrolochi and more! Click here for the full listing of presentations and speakers.
One evening we did a bus tour through the city, learning about the history of Moscow and visiting several beautiful sites including the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the University, the Red Square and St. Basil’s Cathedral. Post conference workshops conducted by Wayne Topping, Marco Rado and Brenden O’Hara were inspiring and informative. Several of the conference attendees then went on a trip to St Petersberg for a few days.
Conferences like this offer us opportunities to learn and grow together – to become better practitioners and to make friendship with others in our field. We hope to see you at a conference in the future!
Monthly Meetings
Beginning in January 2019, IASK will be sponsoring/hosting a monthly event, open to all members.
Mastermind events: these will begin with a short introduction on the topic at hand, then we will break into smaller groups depending on the number of participants to discuss the issue. Each group will work together to brainstorm and create notes, then we will come together as a large group again to consider all of the suggestions. These will then be compiled into comprehensive documents and posted on the Members page of the website. By the end of the year, we should have some interesting notes and thoughts about some of the big issues that we face in to Specialized Kinesiology field.

Reflections on the 2018 Meeting of Associations:
During the most recent Meeting of Associations, we had two breakout sessions where small groups brainstormed about a topic and then reported back to the group.
One of these sessions concerned how Associations can attract and keep more members; the second was about how we can model “connection, communication and harmony” in our community. Click on either topic to see some of the ideas generated by the group!
